GLCC Joins London Cobra Show

The London Cobra Show is one of the premier events for our hobby. Two hundred plus fellow Cobra owners come from all over the country, and in some cases from outside the country, to attend. We are very fortunate to be only a few hours away.

In addition to being an outstanding event, it is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and has contributed over $2.3 million dollars to the foundation. Each year, tickets are sold to win a Cobra with the proceeds donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research.

The main event is Saturday, June 22, starting with a police-escorted parade into the town of London. In addition to the car show, you have the opportunity to give spirited charity rides down main street, visit a number of vendors, plus enjoy the town’s Strawberry Festival. The day ends with a banquet, special speakers, and the drawing for the sweepstakes car. To enjoy the full London Cobra Show experience, arrive on Thursday for self-guided cruises and a local car show in the evening. Friday has multiple guided cruises and ends with a parking lot party with a live band and food trucks.

The event is held at the Columbus Marriott Northwest Hotel in Dublin, Ohio. It’s a very nice hotel with a special room rate and includes a buffet breakfast each day.

Several Great Lakes Cobra Club members have already registered. It would be great if we could have a large group from the club to participate. Including our own private cruise on Friday. If you think there’s a chance you might attend, consider making a reservation at the hotel now. It does fill up. No charge upfront but check their cancellation policy if you choose not to attend.

Several members have asked if they can attend without their Cobra. The answer is YES. However, you will not be included in the Police escorted drive into town for the main event (but parking for civilian or non-Cobras is available).

The website at https://londoncobrashow.com/ has many more details including registration and hotel reservation information.

If you have specific questions, Paul Borror (borror@comcast.net) or George Acree (georgepen65@gmail.com) would be happy to try to answer.

Hope to see you there.
