Great Lakes Cobra Club January 26 2019 Newsletter

This weekend was the visit to the GM Heritage Center, hosted by Steve Pasteiner (Pasteiner’s Hobby in Birmingham).  For those who didn’t make it, Steve hosts this event each January so please consider for 2020!  The curators of the GM Heritage Center routinely rotate the inventory so while there will be some familiar historic vehicles there is always new historically significant vehicles such as former Autorama vehicles, prototypes, rare one-offs and production first-builds.  It is an incredible and historical experience.

Next up on the great list of events in 2019 is the GLCC Private Tour of the Roush Museum on February 9th.  See Event Calendar for details and RSVP.  We have an overwhelming response for this event (thank you!!) and have hit the minimum participation required to open the Roush Museum for a private tour!  So we have made the commitment for the tour. Here’s who’s attending. The fee is $7.00 which includes Coffee and Donuts.  Plus, we have a private room at Leo’s Coney Island (17398 Haggerty Rd) reserved at noon for lunch.

Ford Performance has organized a  Midwest Car Club Summit on February 17th.  The purpose of this very important summit is to connect the leadership of the region’s Ford and Mustang clubs to exchange club management and event ideas, share club best practices and resources, and learn about sponsorship, promotional and event support opportunities. John Clor (who was our keynote speaker at Lingenfelters in 2018), Enthusiast Communications and Outreach Manager for Ford Performance is the guest speaker.  Bob Russel and I will attend representing GLCC.

To all those who have already renewed your 2019 GLCC Membership a BIG THANK YOU for your support.  The rate of renewal in the past 4 weeks has outpaced previous years.  This is a good sign that you are anxious to have some fun in 2019!

And please welcome our newest GLCC Members Michael Grice and Sara Rydzewski!  They are in the planning stages to purchase a Cobra but in the meantime will be driving their 1991 Corvette.

We look forward to seeing you at one of the many events coming up.

Have a great week ahead!
