The Great Lakes Cobra Club and the Motor City Viper Owners are again teaming up for a cruise to Put-In-Bay for the Historic Car Races – September 24-26
We’ll enjoy a nice ferry ride to and from the island, take in the Historic Road Races, and see some of the sights the island has to offer, including the spectacular view from the top of the newly renovated Perry’s Monument!
Since the schedule was moved to the fall this year, the village will be much less crowded. Parking will be easier, and rooms are still available at the Bayshore Resort for the two nights we’ll be there. Rooms are at the Off-Season Rate too! See below for a list of islands B&Bs if you’d like to try one.
Although there is no charge for the event, it’s “pay as you go” again this year, please sign up using the link below so we can send you the cruise route instructions and detailed event information.
The deadline to sign up is September 20th.
A caution on the Ferry. Last year ground clearances were tight. The lake level is up 6-8″ this year which will make the angle for entry and exit of the Ferry even stepper. I would take care if you plan to drive a low-clearance car. Or consider driving civilian.
With the move of the event to weekdays and technically off-season motor vehicles are allowed everywhere on the island. So there is no need to rent golf carts.
A downside of the move to weekdays is we will not be able to participate in the Classic Car Cruise around the island on Sunday (unless you want to arrive early for that).
